Design of Optical Demultiplexer using Arrayed Waveguide Grating
Optical demultiplexers are used to receive multiple frequency signal from an optical fiber and to split it into its different frequency components. Arrayed waveguide gratings can be used to design an optical demultiplexer and works on the principle of interferometry. This paper presents the design of optical demultiplexer for an optical signal composed of eight frequency components. Simulation ...
متن کاملCrosstalk and Noise Characteristics of Non-linear Optical Loop Mirror Demultiplexer and Terahertz Optical Asymmetric Demultiplexer
Crosstalk and noise characteristics of non-linear all optical loop mirror (NOLM) demultiplexer and terahertz optical asymmetric demultiplexer (TOAD) are investigated in this paper. The best demultiplexing conditions are studied in order to minimise the crosstalk and noise, and to achieve reduced power penalty for both all-optical demultiplexing schemes.
متن کاملTunable arrayed waveguide Demultiplexer on X- cut LiNbO3
The design of demultiplexers based on array waveguides is well known [1-5]. A new design based on the concept of variable waveguide depth was recently reported [6]. Since, the fabrication of channel waveguides on glass, silica or lithium niobate is mostly controlled by the lithography pattern and the subsequent fabrication process, it is difficult to implement the variable depth concept on thes...

متن کاملNumerical analysis of waveguide-enhanced optical bistability
We present the results of a simulation study of a multilayer structure for which strongly enhanced (resonant) electric fields are produced at the surface of, and in the interior of, a planar waveguide which is evanescently coupled to an incoming beam in a prism geometry. The resulting field enhancements can far exceed those associated with the well-known surface plasmon resonance in a typical s...
